The Bosch ME9.6.1 is an Engine Control Unit (ECU) used in various General Motors (GM) vehicles, including certain Opel, Saab, and Suzuki models. This ECU is known for its complexity, and handling it requires specialized tools and knowledge. Here we will show how to clone this ECM using Xhorse Multi Prog programmer.
Model example: Chevrolet Malibu (E77) Bosch ME9.6.1 ECM
Select Malibu Bosch ME9.6.1.
Check the wiring diagram. There are two types of wiring: E69 and E77. Select E77 type wiring here.
Connect origithe nal ECM with multi-prog.

Read EXT eeprom.
Read EXT flash of the original ECM.

Back up original ECM data successfully.
Disconnect original ECM.
Connect donor ECM with multi-prog.

Write original flash data to the donor ECM.

Multi-prog corrects checksum online.
Write original eeprom data to the donor ECM.

Install the donor ECM to vehicle.
Xhorse Multi Prog does Chrysler GPEC2A ECM in boot mode. Take the example of the Dodge Charger.

Mode: Boot mode
Read ok, Write ok.
It doesn’t do checksums but it doesn’t do the hex code patch to unlock, iMMO off and vin change
Read EXT EEPROM and INT Flash without problem.
Multi prog will read but cannot unlock.
Modify data tuner.
Write the modified data back to the GPEC2A with multi-prog.
Possible to read and write Valeo VD56 PSA with Xhorse multi prog?
Yes. it does.
For example:
It is a Peugeot 208, V56 ECU.
Flex doesn’t have Boot protocols. Foxflash won’t do boot for this one.
But Xhorse multi prog will read and write.
VD56 GPF OFF, DTC OFF, read and write by multi prog.
But will not carry out checksum correction.
Checksum manually With winOLS or Lsuite.

We will show another way of adding a key on a Mazda CX-5 (6A smart key type) using the Xhorse Key Tool (Key tool max, key tool max pro, key tool plus) and Xhorse XM38 key.
Step 1:
Generate the right key with the ID6A.
Step 2:
Go to Special Function-> Copy Proximity Remote->Mazda 6A smart key clone
Put original key into the induction coil.
Read original key.
Read original key successfully.
Place the generated XM38 smart key into the coil and write data.
People have done many these Mazdas without issue.
But better program an aftermarket key first, than you can clone from the aftermarket key to an xhorse key. It is safer.
