Problem:
I just got Xhorse BMW BDC2 adapter for VVDI2. But have an issue. It asked to disconnect 12V power supply. Any help?
Solution:
Need adjust the adapter and fixing good and retain step number three directly.
NOTE: There is a Process wizard mode. The wizard mode is one-step process from the begining to the end. If you choose wizard mode, don’t perform step 2, step 3… manually.
We suggest adding BMW BDC2 key with Key Tool MIDI or Key Tool Plus. KTP and MIDI don’t ask to disconnect 12V power supply.
Tested the new Xhorse Gen2 Audi BCM2 adapter today on an encrypted 2014 Audi A4 (BCM2 8K0 907 064 JM).
Worked flawlessly. It was easy to place on pins, stable communication and completed full read of d flash and p flash with VVDI Key Tool Plus using the Gen2 adapter.
No need to write back service file. No need to remove additional components or use jump wires.
Highly recommend it for anyone doing Audi BCM2 jobs.
To our valued partners and customers,
To ensure we continue delivering the high level of stability and reliability you expect from us, we’re making some important changes to our supported hardware.
Starting in 2026, Xhorse will begin a gradual phase-out of support for third-party chips. This move allows us to focus on guaranteeing a superior and consistent experience for all our users.

Problem:
Xhorse VVDI MLB Tool failed to collect original key data for a Skoda Octavia.
Error “Key data calculation failed4, error code 0”.
Possible reasons and solutions:
During data collection, the PQ value is low which means the calculation signal quality is poor.
Do the following:
1). Replace it with a shorter USB cable to connect to the computer.
2). Place the key properly during data collection, as shown in the figure.
As titled, how to identify if a Xhorse VVDI Key Tool MIDI device is Global (GL) or Chinese (CN) version?
Method 1: Provide device serial number to vvdishop.com customer service. We’ll have Xhorse engineer to verify your device.
Method 2: Identify version in machine directly.
Pull down the list and check region code.
Region 29=GL version.
Region 28= CN version.
